Production Printing

Production Printer

The Epson Stylus Pro 9900 is used for production printing, such as for your final project. Don’t use the 9900 for draft prints, it will be much more expensive!

 

From Photoshop:

  • Go to File > Print
  • Click on Print Settings
  • Make sure that Printer is set to Production Printer (9900)
  • Click Paper Size
    • If your paper size doesn’t exist, choose Managed Custom Sizes.
    • Click the (+) button to add a new paper size
    • From the Layout drop-down, select Printer Settings.
  • Below are our recommended settings:
    • Page Setup: Roll Paper – Banner (or Sheet if printing individual sheets)
    • Media Type: We stock the following: 24″ Enhanced Matte, 44″ Doubleweight Matte
    • Print Mode: AccuPhoto HDR
    • Color Mode: Off (No Color Management)
    • Output Resolution: Fine – 720 dpi
    • Uncheck High Speed
    • Click Save
    • Under Color Handling, choose Photoshop Manages Color
    • Under Printer Profile, choose a profile that matches the Media Type you chose, such as “Pro9600 Doubleweight Matte_MK” for 44″ Doubleweight Matte paper
    • Ensure your document is arranged properly in the preview. If you need to change the orientation, click the buttons to the right of the Print Settings button to flip it.
    • Click Print

 

From Illustrator:

  • Go to File > Print
  • Click Page Setup
    • Click Continue if prompted
    • Click Paper Size
      • If your paper size doesn’t exist, choose Managed Custom Sizes.
      • Click the (+) button to add a new paper size
      • Click OK
    • Click Printer…
    • Click Continue if prompted
    • Make sure that Printer is set to Draft Printer (9600)
    • From the Layout drop-down, select Print Settings. Below are our recommended settings:
    • Page Setup: Roll Paper – Banner (or Sheet if printing individual sheets)
    • Media Type: We stock the following: 24″ Enhanced Matte, 44″ Doubleweight Matte
    • Print Mode: AccuPhoto HDR
    • Color Mode: Off (No Color Management)
    • Output Resolution: Fine – 720 dpi
    • Uncheck High Speed
    • Click Print
    • Ensure your document is arranged properly in the preview. If you need to change the orientation, uncheck Auto-Rotate and use the orientation buttons to rotate it.
    • Select Color Management
    • Under Printer Profile, choose a profile that matches the Media Type you chose, such as “Pro9600 Doubleweight Matte_MK” for 44″ Doubleweight Matte paper
    • Click Print
